A new step was taken this Thursday at Orange, after the meeting of a governance committee.
The presidency of the telecom operator should be entrusted to Jacques Aschenbroich, president of Valeo and ex-CEO of the automotive supplier, according to our information, which Orange does not comment on.
Formally, the board of directors to be held on the 30th will still have to ratify the governance committee's proposal.
This choice will then be submitted to the vote of the shareholders at the general meeting on May 19.
Another resolution will be proposed, since the choice of Jacques Aschenbroich implies a modification of the statutes of Orange, relating to the age limit of the chairman.
It is currently set at 70 years.
Jacques Aschenbroich will soon be 68. It is therefore planned to change this clause to enable him to complete this four-year term.
