The Russian Foreign Ministry considered that the decision of the NATO summit to continue supporting the Kyiv regime with weapons and funds reflects its desire for a military escalation in Ukraine.
"The decision announced at the NATO summit to continue providing political and practical support to the Kyiv regime confirms the alliance's interest in continuing military actions," ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in a statement today.
Zakharova indicated that "NATO's incitement to Kiev to use force against Donetsk and Luhansk caused horrific results... Now they are talking in the alliance about the new reality that has developed in the field of European security as if they had nothing to do with it," referring in this regard to the "bragging" of the Secretary-General of NATO Jens Stoltenberg that over the past eight years, NATO has trained tens of thousands of military personnel in Ukraine who are now participating in hostilities.
Zakharova pointed to the disinformation campaigns led by NATO and its accusations of Russia, without evidence, of committing a provocation in Ukraine, noting that this comes as part of the alliance's attempts to "cover up the dark actions of the Americans in the development of biological and chemical weapons."
Zakharova indicated that "NATO is currently seeking any arguments to justify a dangerous and destabilizing build-up of forces on the eastern side near Russia," noting that "4 groups of new NATO multinational battalions have been formed in Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia."
Yesterday, Zakharova considered that the inability of the European Union to analyze objectively, the lack of independence in decision-making and the adoption of double standards is what prevents this bloc from agreeing with its neighbors, undermines confidence in it and deprives it of respect in its relations with the international community.
