The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) today successfully test-fired a new intercontinental ballistic missile under the supervision of President Kim Jong Un.

The new ballistic missile, Hwasongfu 17, was launched from Pyongyang International Airport and flew at an altitude of about 6 km and traveled a distance of 1,060 km before accurately hitting its predetermined target in the open waters of the East Korean Sea, noting that the test was carried out taking into account the safety of countries, the DPRK news agency reported.
