Rebbetzin Leah Koldetzky, the daughter of Rabbi Chaim Kanevsky, who passed away last week, asked during a condolence visit by Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked at the rabbi's home in Bnei Brak to prevent the promotion of the government's conversion reform.
"This is the will of the rabbi. He cared about his blood and soul to have a proper conversion. All you can do in this matter, is a big role."
Shaked sat next to Rebbetzin Koldetzky and was accompanied by Torah Judaism chairman Moshe Gafni, despite the political rivalry between the parties
. Israel. "Shaked thanked the rabbi for her support during the corona period, and called for vaccination." That's all the rabbi.
Kodesh Kodeshim, "said Rabbi Koldetzky in response. MK Gafni, who was present next to them, said:" They say that the rabbi will come to heaven now, he will be completely surprised. Some things he did, he did not even know. "

The conversion reform stipulates that city rabbis will be able to establish conversion tribunals within the state conversion system under rules of procedure, supervision, control and uniform certificates for all.
As part of this, a "Rabbinical Cities" district will be established in the State Conversion Division, which will provide administrative services to the rabbis of the cities.
The one who will determine the uniform rules for conversion is a new rabbinical committee, but the chief rabbi, the steering committee and the chief rabbinical council will have the authority to cancel the appointment of a conversion judge in a controlled manner in case of violation of the rules of procedure.
The reform is promoted by Minister of Religious Affairs Matan Kahana, contrary to the position of the Chief Rabbinate of Israel, and it provokes strong opposition in the religious and ultra-Orthodox world, and among the ultra-Orthodox and religious parties in the Knesset.
