New York-Sana

Syria's permanent representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Bassam Sabbagh, stressed that restoring security and stability to Syria requires the West to abandon its hostile policies, stop its support and sponsorship of terrorism, restore its terrorists and their families, end the occupation and illegal foreign presence, lift the stifling economic siege, and support the state's efforts to achieve development and reconstruction.

Sabbagh explained during a Security Council session today that some countries raced this month to issue statements to commemorate the 11th anniversary of the terrorist war that it launched against Syria through its terrorist tools in order to impede its renaissance, destroy its development achievements, shed the blood of its sons who defend its dignity, sovereignty and unity, and undermine its regional and international role. That Syria is a country of history, civilization, coexistence, tolerance, resistance, heroism, progress and development was a common goal of the forces of evil, hatred, darkness, destruction, ignorance, backwardness, employment and dependence.

Sabbagh pointed to the expression "expressing concern" that these countries have been using in their statements, stressing that the real concern that everyone should express is from the practices of the American occupation forces and their support for the separatist militias in northeastern Syria, and their participation in looting national wealth and the practices of the occupation forces. Turkey and its support for terrorist organizations in northwestern Syria and their blatant interference in the internal affairs of Syria and the repeated Israeli attacks on Syrian territory and the resulting casualties, damage and direct threat to the security and stability of the region.

And Syria's permanent representative to the United Nations indicated that the phrase "stopping the violence" is another phrase that they are keen to fill in their statements, but they incite it every day through pressure, intimidation, and manipulation of societal values, and they fuel it through their aggressive practices and their recycling of terrorist elements and the perverted horizons who brought them from all corners. The land is now refusing to take back them and their families.

Sabbagh said: Over the past 11 years, some have shed tears over the suffering of the Syrian people, but they deny that this suffering is a result of the failed policies of those countries, their aggressive actions, inflammatory statements, and human hypocrisy, pointing out that the suffering of the Syrian people began from undermining the state of security and stability that the Syrian citizen was living in and using them. Terrorist and criminal elements to spread chaos, spread terror and fear, sabotage and destroy infrastructure and development achievements, until they impose unilateral coercive measures and repeatedly threaten to impose more.

Sabbagh pointed out that the aggressive practices of these countries caused waves of displacement and asylum and impeded the efforts of the Syrian state to provide appropriate conditions for the return of the displaced and refugees to their areas, putting an end to their suffering and exploiting it for blackmail and concluding deals as the Turkish regime does. Today, these countries prevent any local, regional or international effort to rebuild what It was destroyed by the terrorist war and the start of early recovery projects that can help Syrians to survive instead of pushing them to displacement, migration or asylum.

Sabbagh stressed that calling these countries for a political solution in Syria is outrage and hypocrisy, because they want a solution according to their perspective, which does not respect the will of the Syrian people and their national choices, which prolongs the crisis and obstructs reaching a real solution, indicating that these countries interfere with what is the exclusive property of the Syrian people and seek to impose Frames on him that are not commensurate with his history, cultural, civilizational and societal values and the challenges he faces.

The permanent representative of Syria to the United Nations made it clear that when they talk about “accountability and the lack of impunity,” this does not mean in any way to those countries accountability for their crimes, aggression, violations and support for terrorism.. Justice in the eyes of those countries is selective and comes either through politicized mechanisms Its establishment was imposed through pressure methods that they exercised to serve their interests and agendas or through manipulation of the pillars of international law and resorting to distorted interpretations of it and other immoral concepts, stressing that shedding Syrian blood, destroying their achievements and stealing their wealth are crimes that require accountability from those countries and ensure that they do not go unpunished. .

Sabbagh pointed to the efforts made by the state to restore security and stability to all regions through reconciliations and settlements taking place in many cities and regions, in implementation of the amnesty decrees that enabled thousands of Syrians at home and abroad to return to their normal lives, indicating that the state continues to provide basic, health and educational services and improve living conditions. to its citizens and is committed to working with the United Nations and international partners, including by enhancing humanitarian access from within its territories, implementing early recovery projects, and providing appropriate conditions for the return of displaced persons and refugees.

Sabbagh reiterated Syria's commitment to a political solution based on a Syrian-Syrian national dialogue and a political process led and owned by Syria without any external interference and in a manner that achieves the hopes of the Syrian people and ensures full commitment to respecting Syria's sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity, stressing its rejection of any external interference in the work of the Constitution Discussion Committee Or attempts to obstruct its work or impose preconceived conclusions and artificial timetables for it.
