Damascus-Suwayda-Sana
With the participation of 75 players, representing most of the governorates, in addition to the Police Authority, the Republic Championship for artistic gymnastics for the junior and junior categories was concluded, which was hosted by Al-Fayhaa Sports Hall in Damascus.
The results of the tournament for the junior category resulted in Tala Makarem from Sweida winning the table-jumping competition, Sana Al-Akari “Hama” in the parallel device competition, and Shahd Al-Baini “Al-Suwaida” with the crossbar device, while Razan Zarzouri “Hama” won the floor movement competition.
Razan Zarzouri won the first place in the general singles, leaving the second and third places to Rima Al-Jundi “Tartous” and Tala Makarim “Al-Suwayda” respectively, and in the teams’ ranking, Hama came first, followed by As-Suwayda, then Aleppo, Lattakia, then Tartous.
In the junior category, Basma Kahila (Lattakia), Mirjana Shaheen (Hama), and Nadine Miri (Aleppo) won equally the first place in the jumping table, with the parallel device, crossbar and floor movements. Aleppo came first in the order of teams, then Hama and As-Suwayda.
Member of the International Wisdom Game Federation, Rania Abu Fakher, indicated in a statement to SANA that the tournament witnessed strong competition, distinguished organization, and a good level of arbitration, and produced promising talents that herald a future for Syrian gymnastics to reach international forums.
Head of the Gymnastics Technical Committee in Sweida, Louay Al-Harfoush, pointed out that Al-Suwayda’s participation was distinctive and reflected the efforts of the coaches and players, and the follow-up and attention of the Executive Committee of the Sports Federation branch, noting that Suwayda won 8 various medals, two gold, two silver, four bronze, and the second place cup for the women’s category and the third for the junior category.
