Damascus, SANA- The Traffic Department of the Ministry of Interior announced that a number of roads in the governorates of Damascus, Hama and Lattakia have been closed

The Traffic Department of the Ministry of Interior announced that a number of roads in the governorates of Damascus countryside, Hama, Lattakia, and Sweida are impassable or difficult to pass due to the accumulation of snow and ice formation.

And the administration indicated in its bulletin this afternoon that in the countryside of Damascus, the roads (Darbel Arnah and (Hinat Ein Al Sha’ara Khirbet Al-Suda) are impassable due to the accumulation of snow, while the roads (Arnat Al-Raymah, Qassem, Qalaat Jandal Issam), (Darbal Hen), (Hina Mughr Al-Mir and Beit Jinn) Harf and Beit Jann Mughr Al-Mir) is impassable with difficulty due to snowfall.

In Hama governorate, the roads (Shatah, Jubbet Bargal) and (Ain al-Krum al-Qardah) are not passable due to the formation of snow. In Lattakia, the roads (Beit Yashut al-Ghab and Jubbet Bargal al-Ghab) are impassable due to the accumulation of snow, and all roads leading to Slunfa district are difficultly passable for the same reason.

In As-Suwayda Governorate, roads (Shahba Namira, Shahba Ghayda and Umm Dhabib Namira Tema) and the roads leading to the Al-Mashnaf district are difficult to pass due to the formation of ice.

The Traffic Department advised drivers to exercise caution during the prevailing weather conditions, especially during the formation of snow or the occurrence of frost, fog and precipitation, and the need to ensure the technical readiness of the vehicle and reduce speed on curves and slopes.

The Traffic Department has allocated the numbers 5422703 and 5411365 for citizens to inquire about the condition of the roads.
