The first “Days of Joy… Together towards a Positive Life” event, which is organized by the Oscar Forum for Culture and Media, kicked off today, and will last for 3 days, in cooperation with the Association of Friends of Expatriates in Homs, within the Alpha Institute for People with Special Needs in the Hamidiya neighborhood of Old Homs.
The events included an exhibition of plastic art drawings and images from memory, which included 60 artistic paintings, with the participation of 30 artists and young talents, in addition to a poetic evening by writers who recited poetic poems saluting the teacher on his feast, praising his efforts and celebrating the mother and her unlimited giving.
Dr. Manal Shouk, a specialist in the treatment of speech and hearing problems, gave a lecture on speech and hearing problems and ways of treatment, while the human development specialist, Marwa Al-Sayed, explained about self-mastery and the strategy of personal balance in working life.
In statements to Sana Cultural, the Secretary of the Association of Friends of Expatriates in Homs, Hala Rabahia, indicated that the association has sought, since its establishment, to be the link between the expatriate and his country through cultural forums, training courses for story writing, drawing and photography exhibitions, social initiatives, and support for young talents to build a conscious, educated and creative generation.
And the director of the Oscar Forum, Andre Deeb, indicated that the activities today are on the occasion of Mother’s and Teacher’s Day, and the lofty meanings they carry, and in appreciation of their efforts in building the human being. Social media has been around for two years, and the “Days of Joy” activities are his actual launch on the ground.
A member of the Union of Fine Artists in Homs, the plastic artist, Muhammad Al-Ali, indicated that the participants’ paintings included 5 artworks whose themes ranged from nature, realism, expressionism and abstraction, and 5 photographic works of the old houses and lanes of Homs, indicating that the majority of participants are young artistic talents who have begun to discover their way towards creativity so that the exhibition constitutes An encouragement to them and a good opportunity to display the product of their creativity.
The poets Nasser Taria participated in the zagliati “My Mother” and “The Wrath of March”, the poet Hassan Ali Ahmed participated in the poems “Salute to March”, “The Christmas Tree” and “Mother’s Day”, and the poet Nabil Bakis with his poems “She is the Mother” and “In the Doha of Love” and the poet Hanadi Abu Hanoud with poems “Thank you for being my mother,” “I yearn for my mother’s prayer,” and “My mother’s face has not changed.”
