Homeland Security Minister Amar Bar-Lev today (Friday) fired his spokesman Nathan Dublin.
This, against the background of what Bar-Lev said at the funeral of those killed in the attack in Be'er Sheva and the minister's subsequent joke about the mistake he made in a tweet regarding the obstruction of arms smuggling from the Lebanese border.
He explained that during the funeral "they stuck my microphone in, I started immediately".
"You heard the palette I had at Doris' funeral. It's not an excuse but I was not supposed to carry things," Bar-Lev explained in Parliament backs.
"While the facilitator stuck the microphone in me, I started immediately and the rest of the story. I was attacked for a wrong sentence that was said without bad intent, there are worse things," he added.
Bar-Lev caused a stir when he said on Wednesday this week at the funeral of the murdered woman in Be'er Sheva that the terrorist would be sent to prison, at a time when the terrorist was shot dead by civilians at the scene of the attack yesterday.
"We will not keep quiet until the crime and the criminal get to jail and be tried with all the severity of the law," he said, causing embarrassment in the crowd.

"This is the only way we can and should deal with murderous terrorism, criminal terrorism, terrorism that does not distinguish between people, and we will deal with it and eradicate the terrorists," Bar-Lev said in the Be'er Sheva cemetery, at the funeral of Laura Yitzhak.
"We will reach their home, their families and find justice with all those who sing a hand - and certainly those who sing a knife to a citizen of the State of Israel."
Afterwards, the Minister of Internal Security joked about his remarks at the funeral of those killed in the attack in Be'er Sheva.
In a tweet he published about thwarting arms smuggling from the Lebanese border, he wrote: "We will not keep quiet until we put the smugglers in prison and prosecute them," with the addition of an emoji wink.
This, as a reminder of the storm that erupted last night when he said at the funeral of the murdered woman in Be'er Sheva that the terrorist would be sent to prison while the terrorist was shot to death by civilians at the scene of the attack yesterday.
"We will not keep quiet until the crime and the criminal get to jail and be tried with all the severity of the law," he said, causing embarrassment in the crowd.

The minister's entourage made it clear that the minister was wrong and confused, "he was not supposed to bear the obituary and was confused," they said.
"During the last 24 hours he has participated in numerous hearings in which he has referred to the death of the terrorist. Two hours earlier he had spoken at a conference of the Police Prosecution Division and praised the civilians who killed the terrorist."
