The Haxnbauer at Sparkassenstraße 6 not only has a new tenant in Augustiner from November: Two well-known Munich innkeepers will take over the restaurant after the renovation.

Munich - The legendary grill in the Scholastikahaus continues to rotate: As our newspaper has exclusively learned, the gastro kings Werner Hochreiter and Moritz Haake will take over the Haxnhaus in Sparkassenstraße 6.

The Augustiner brewery will be the new tenant from November.

They succeed the Kuffler gastro family, whose lease is expiring.

On request, the company informed that although there would still be Haxn in the Scholastikahaus, the name "Haxnbauer" would be replaced.

In addition, the grill will be idle for the time being, as the rooms will probably have to be completely renovated for nine months from November.

"Everything that is beautiful will be preserved or restored," says the management of the Augustiner brewery.

"Tradition is inherently important to us."

The plan is to open the new Haxnbraterei from late summer 2023.

The new landlords Werner Hochreiter (among other things: "Biergarten am Viktualienmarkt") and Moritz Haake (among other things: "Burger & Lobster Bank") can welcome guests to 320 seats.

There are also event rooms with 500 square meters on the second and third floor of the magnificent listed building, which has been owned by the student association "Akademischer Liederverein München" since 1890.

The halls of the AGV with the up to eight meter high stucco ceilings and large stage are not leased, but are used for events.

"We look forward to working with the Augustiner brewery, to our guests and to wonderful dishes from the roastery," says Moritz Haake.

For the public in a hurry there will be a knuckle roll and other delicacies from the street sale in the future.

Werner Hochreiter is also certain that the new Haxnbraterei will be “our heart project in the heart of the city.

The Scholastikahaus is an institution in Munich.
