On Saturday, the third and decisive quarter-final game of WWK Volleys Herrsching will take place against Friedrichshafen.

The volleyball players from Ammersee are clear outsiders.

Coach Max Hauser puts the chance for his team at “30 percent”.

Herrsching – As the only quarter-final duel for the German Volleyball Championship, the southern derby between VfB Friedrichshafen and WWK Volleys Herrsching goes into overtime.

On Saturday, 8 p.m., the third and decisive game in the best-of-three series will take place in the Neu-Ulm ratiopharm Arena.

Can the guests from Ammersee again outperform the big favorites from Lake Constance?

Both teams have to adjust to a completely different atmosphere in Neu-Ulm than last time in the Audi Dome.

At the first game two weeks ago, only 268 spectators got lost in the 6,500-seat arena in the immediate vicinity of the Bavarian-Baden-Württemberg border.

Especially towards the end of the game it became very quiet as the Herrschinger strove towards their surprise victory.

A week ago, when the Häfler turned the tables and equalized in the play-off series, 2100 spectators celebrated a big volleyball party in the new Herrschinger home ground in Munich's Westend.

Fritz Frömming was very relaxed: "The statistics clearly speak for us." Because: Both guest appearances in Neu-Ulm were successful.

In addition to the success of two weeks ago, the Herrschinger clearly won 3-0 in the pre-season against VfB Friedrichshafen a few days after involuntarily moving into their new home ground.

But then the Herrschinger team manager became more serious.

“Everything has to go really, really, really well for us.

Things must be going really, really badly at Friedrichshafen.”

Coach Mark Lebedew can draw on his entire squad for the hosts.

Setter Dejan Vincic was still missing in the first game, in the second leg the Slovenian led his team to a 3-0 win that was almost never threatened.

"He made the difference," said Tim Peter.

"We'll go full throttle again," announced the Herrschingen captain.

After all, you have "nothing to lose".

Coach Max Hauser estimates the chances of winning at 30 percent: "They are VfB Friedrichshafen." You have to hit the serves yourself and "take a high risk" on the service line. In the lost second game, the poor service rate was the deciding factor.

Herrsching made 17 serve errors, Friedrichshafen only four.

"If they repeat that, it will be difficult for us," says Hauser.

You drive highly motivated to Neu-Ulm.

According to Hauser, the training week was good – despite the clear defeat.

If Herrsching managed to surprise them, they would meet the next top-class team in the semi-finals – the Berlin Recycling Volleys.

The capital city didn't miss a beat against the Helios Grizzlys Giesen and won the quarter-final series 2-0.

The favorites also prevailed in the other quarter-finals.

The power volleys Düren didn't burn anything against the Netzhoppers Königs Wusterhausen.

The United Volleys Frankfurt prevailed against the corona-stricken SVG Lüneburg.
