The lyrical evening “In the presence of the Rahabna”, which was revived by the “Qased” orchestra led by Maestro Kamal Skiker on the stage of the Culture Palace in Homs, brought the audience back to the time of the Rahbanah with its warmth of words, spontaneity and simplicity of melodies.

In 60 minutes, the evening combined tradition and modernity, as it was unique in its Lebanese nature, with the participation of academic musicians and singers, Wissam al-Shaer on the accordion, Wahba Fahem and Suleiman Harfouche singing.

The evening, whose program was based on the plays of the Rahbani brothers, varied through their artistic career, which was abundant in unique creativity. It began with the piece “The Battle” from the play “Jisr Al-Qamar” followed by the two songs “May you be good” and “Bakra Al-Hawa” with a clear voice, which was accompanied by the orchestra also performed the two songs “Sad Nights of the North” And “I came back to winter” from the station play.

The poet accompanied the orchestra by playing the orchestra for the pieces “Natura al-Maftaha” and “My Mother Namat A Bakir,” after which Harfoush sings the song “Weinen” and moves into the atmosphere of Mais al-Reem’s play and performs the songs “Ya Mareq ala al-Tawahin” and “Shabak Habibi” while Fahmeh sang “I asked you.” Habibi” and “O Mukhtar of the Mukhtars”.

The evening concluded with a lyrical compass from the two plays “Days of Summer and Lulu”, during which Harfouche sang the songs “Thir’a Da’ash Enta’ash” and “Saif Al-Marajel”, after which he participated in the duo with the orchestra with the song “Min Ezz Al-Nom”.

In statements to SANA Cultural, Maestro Scheiker indicated that the program of the concert, which was previously presented on the stage of the Damascus Opera House at the beginning of this year, was chosen to be a synthesis of the works of Rahbaneh, especially plays, through a historical arrangement from their beginnings until the end of their creative journey.

Fahma indicated that her standing today in front of a gourmet audience bears her a great responsibility to present high art, as she was keen, during her performance of Fairuz's songs, to preserve the identity of her voice and the basic feeling of the song, pointing out that the performance of the duet is enjoyable because it resembles dialogue in an attractive lyrical style.
