There was smoke and explosions from the transformer room in Chuyuan Nan Village, Wong Tai Sin this evening (25th).
A resident of Zhuyuan South Village said on Facebook that at about 8 p.m., they heard a loud noise that was suspected to be an explosion. Some netizens photographed the location of the underground transformer room in Fuyuan Building. Netizens pointed out that the building "turned off the lights" for nearly 10 seconds, and some residents of Chuk Yuen North Village said that the lights in their units flickered.
By 10 pm, the power of Fuyuan Building had not been restored.

By 10:00 pm, the power of Fuyuan Building had not been restored. According to on-site information, the smoking transformer room was suspected to have a component failure. CLP dispatched a mobile generator truck to the scene. Complete and restore power by midnight.
The fire department received a report at 8:19 p.m. that a fire broke out in Fuyuan Building, Zhuyuan South Village, and an explosion sounded. An ambulance was alerted at the scene. About 40 residents were evacuated by themselves during the incident. Fire and CLP personnel are investigating at the scene. The incident was initially not suspicious.
