The municipal council in Feldkirchen was too often confronted with investor plans.

The CSU therefore insists that the municipality secure planning sovereignty for an area south of the railway line.

Feldkirchen – In the past, the municipal councils were repeatedly surprised by investor plans and had to react quickly.

"It has to be different now, we have to say what we want early on, not just when investors come," said Herbert Vanvolsem (CSU).

His parliamentary group had therefore submitted an application to change the land use plan for the area south of the railway line, west of Olympiastrasse and north of Münchner Strasse and the A 94.

"We have to define what we want: cycle paths, residential development, open spaces, sports facilities, businesses," said Vanvolsem.

"So early, when an investor comes up with his plans, we've already discussed it." Group colleague Martin Obergrossber has been on the municipal council for two years, "during that time we didn't develop any visions, had no ideas, we were always driven by the investors".

His demand: "We have to actively take over planning sovereignty again and say what we want and where."

“We only hear about the plans in the municipal council”

By changing the land use plan, the municipal council has the opportunity to counteract undesirable future developments.

The CSU specifically alluded to the planned four-lane S-Bahn route from Munich to Markt Schwaben with the pivoting from the exhibition center via the Feldkirch area and the recently expressed desire for the construction of a Lidl discounter with a drugstore.

"We only hear about the plans in the municipal council and should then react very quickly - it must not be like this in the future," said Stefan Seiffert (CSU).

Silvia Pahl-Leclerque (Greens) considers the proposal to be a good idea in principle, "but we must be aware that a land use plan to defend against the S-Bahn line, for example, will not help.

We will have bad cards if the Free State and the trade fair decide that.” Thomas Zimmermann (UWV) recalled that the municipal council had unanimously decided not to decide on any land use plans without the consent of all property owners.

"And that is definitely not the case in this area." Christian Wilhelm (SPD) sees the section proposed by the CSU as too small, "if so, then we would have to do the entire local area, I see especially north of the rail tracks we have a lot of work and projects to do.”

Mayor Andreas Janson (UWV) also saw it that way.

"On the one hand, the intended area is pretty big, but I think we would have to look at the entire local area." Of course you have to start somewhere, but it was precisely with this section that the CSU wanted that you had decided several times in the coming years nothing to do.

"We wanted to develop the areas in town first," said Janson.

Nevertheless, the municipal council decided with 9:7 votes that the land use plan should be changed.
