Li Liye, Chief Administrative Manager (Integrated Clinical Services) of the Hospital Authority announced today that five younger patients have died, including a three-year-old girl with chronic illness. On the afternoon of March 18, she developed symptoms such as fever and cramps, and the girl also tested positive for rapid testing. She went to the Accident and Emergency Department of Prince of Wales Hospital on the same day and was admitted to the Children's Intensive Care Unit for treatment. Because the girl continued to have cramps, it was found after taking an X-ray. There was pneumonia, and then basic treatment, drugs, remdesivir, steroids, etc. were provided, but the girl's condition gradually deteriorated, her heartbeat slowed down, and the oxygen level in her blood also decreased. Finally, the girl passed away on the afternoon of March 25.

The girl has symptoms such as fever and cramps, which is also related to the girl's severe brain lesions. However, because the girl has pneumonia in her lungs, it is unknown whether the case is related to the virus. Li Liye pointed out that she needs to be referred to the Coroner's Court. The Authority could not give an answer.

The other four younger patients who died were one man and three women, including:

1) A 39-year-old man is a chronically ill patient who needs to stay in bed for a long time and is fed by a throat. He has a background of epilepsy and lives in the Tsz Nursing Home in Chung Hom Kok. He tested positive on March 10 and started to have a fever. His condition went downhill, and he finally passed away on March 25.

2) A 52-year-old woman, who was tested positive in early March, was also positive in subsequent tests. The CT value was higher than 30, which was considered high. After she entered the oncology ward for cancer treatment, she felt unwell and needed to have ascites drawn. Her condition gradually developed The next wave, the bile duct plug also deteriorated, and finally passed away on the evening of March 25.

3) A 56-year-old woman, suffering from thyroid disease, went to the Accident and Emergency Department of United Hospital in the early morning of March 25. She had high fever, shortness of breath and other symptoms at that time. After taking X-rays, she was found to have pneumonia, so she was admitted to the hospital. His condition deteriorated rapidly, and the final first aid and intubation were ineffective, and he passed away at 8:52 am the next day.

4) Woman 59, a chronically ill patient with heart and lung problems, went to the Accident and Emergency Department of Queen Elizabeth Hospital on the afternoon of March 23. At that time, her blood pressure dropped, her heartbeat was fast, her right upper quadrant had pain, and dark urine , gallbladder inflammation and other symptoms, after percutaneous gallbladder puncture, he was transferred to the intensive care unit for hospitalization, and finally passed away at 4 am on March 25.
