Dozens arrived this evening (Saturday) at Habima Square in Tel Aviv to demonstrate for Russia and its president, Vladimir Putin, against the background of the war in Ukraine.
The demonstrators, most of them immigrants from Russia or families of immigrants, waved Russian flags, the Crimean peninsula and the Soviet Union, and carried signs that read, among other things, "For a world without Nazis," "No to rosophobia in Israel," and "Stop hating Russians."
During the demonstration, a confrontation broke out between the Russian demonstrators and a pro-Ukrainian resident of Tel Aviv.
"I came to ask why they were doing this and why they were cheating," he said, adding that his family was from Odessa.
Cops were forced to separate the parties, and one of the demonstrators stopped.
"We are against the Nazis, Putin wants to end the Nazis and all the hustle and bustle," said Yossi, a resident of Bat Yam, calling Putin a "doctor."
"Now there is no corona, no problems. The Nazi rule in Ukraine should be abolished and there should be rule there. We are brothers and should live in peace as we have lived all these years."
Most of the protesters said they came through social media organizations, such as Facebook, Telegram and Tiktok.

Avraham, who arrived with his wife from Petah Tikva, justifies Russia's actions in Ukraine.
"I am against the war but Russia is doing it right," he argued.
"What, Israel is not bombing Gaza? When we bomb Syria and Lebanon it is because we want to defend the country. It is the same thing. Putin warned as early as 2014 that he would not let NATO force approach the Russian border, they did not listen.
This is a new world order, tired of the rule of the United States and NATO. The whole Middle East is on fire because of NATO.
On the other side of the square, a handful demonstrated in favor of Ukraine.
"We know the faces," said Svetlana Haniniev, who reached the semifinals in the final season of Chef's Games.
The demonstrators tonight also demonstrated yesterday, in Netanya.
"Bring the same people on the buses," she claimed.
"There is a reason they are declaring it and there is a real reason. I am from Moscow and it hurts me very much to see this. We ran away from just that. They say they are against Nazis and violence, but there is no violence like in Russia."
She added that "they have Nazi flags, of a group that in World War II said, 'Kill the Jews and save the Russians.'"
