The 10b of the Realschule Tegernseer Tal took the 125th birthday of Ludwig Erhard as an opportunity to dedicate themselves to the former Federal Chancellor, Economics Minister and Gmunder.

Gmund – Class 10b of the Tegernseer Tal Realschule took the 125th birthday of Ludwig Erhard as an opportunity to dedicate themselves to the former Federal Chancellor, Economics Minister and fellow citizen of Gmund from different perspectives.

The resulting project work received a lot of praise when it was presented.

The guests were impressed, all of them Erhard experts, such as lawyer Professor Walter Beck, who gave the school the impetus for this project, Gmund's former archive and local curator, who supported some of the students with advice and action, Mayor Alfons Besel and Publisher and Ludwig Erhard Summit organizer Christiane Götz-Weimer on the works presented on partition walls.

Whether it was Erhard portraits in pop art or modern air brush style, information flyers, websites or power point presentations, they all made a highly professional impression.

While Mayor Besel praised the democratic constitutional state as a prerequisite for a functioning social system and invited the students to work together as a social force, but also as individuals, Goetz-Weimer reminded them that Ludwig Erhard had always resisted the expression "economic miracle".

There is always hard work behind so-called miracles.

Götz-Weimer was pleased with the commitment of the junior high school students and asked them to consider naming the school Ludwig Erhard Realschule - especially since Erhard himself was also a junior high school student.

Headmaster Tobias Schreiner gallantly rejected this and with a view to the "negative experiences" of other schools in the Tegernsee Valley: "The name is already taken." The official name Realschule Tegernseer Tal brings the roots in the region, with the people and the valley to expression.

Representing all groups, Sarah Merkl and Anna Baumann presented their digital work on the reformer Erhard - with a biography and an overview of the reforms in which Erhardt was involved.

The (internal school Sway) blog, in which the reforms were described from Erhard's point of view, was particularly impressive.

If he had had the opportunity back then, he would certainly have used digital and probably also social media.

Topics from the social market economy to prosperity for all

Maria Schober, Magdalena Kandlinger and Robert Meier impressed with their presentation "Social market economy: yesterday-today-tomorrow", which dealt with highly topical issues such as relief for small and medium-sized businesses, reform of inheritance tax, rent control and minimum wage.

"There are moments when you're just proud as a headmaster," announced Schreiner and praised the impressive level, the training of overarching competencies, the creativity and the digital presentation.

“Prosperity for everyone”, as Erhard demanded, is the topic that students in the Tegernsee Valley in particular have difficulties with, said Schreiner.

"Here, the homeland is taken over by money," explained Schreiner and demanded in the direction of politics and business, i.e. Besel and Götz-Weimer: "Don't let the division of the homeland get bigger,

The headmaster also thanked the heads of the history, social studies and politics departments, Marina Ederer and Dagmar Simperl, who supported the project work in class 10b.
