Volksbad in Nuremberg: Marcus König is lucky, Markus Söder is reminiscing

King in luck: “With the refurbishment of the public baths, we are giving a further impetus to the city repairs around the Plärrer.

An important monument is being renovated here and the area is being upgraded.

In addition, we are creating additional capacity so that children can learn to swim and clubs can train.” Meanwhile, Söder is reminiscing: “A long-cherished wish has come true: I used to love swimming here even as a child.

An Art Nouveau pool is being created that combines tradition with school swimming and modern wellness areas.”

According to the city, the renovation should cost a total of around 55 million euros, divided between the federal government, the state and the city, with Nuremberg probably contributing more than half.

For Minister of Art Blume, the public baths in Nuremberg are a "European Art Nouveau jewel".
