Today, the As-Suwayda Athletics Championships, which was set up by the Technical Committee for Athletics in the governorate for those born in 2007 and 2008, concluded today, with the participation of about 80 players, who represented Al-Arabi, Salkhad, Ari, Douma, Shahba and Qanawat clubs.
The results of the championship, hosted by the Municipal Stadium track in Al Mazraa Sports City, resulted in the victory of Ghadi Zain Al-Din (channels), Shahd Qutaish (naked) in the 100-meter race, Aghid Ghanem (Shahba), Sarah Al-Shoumari (Al-Arabi) in the 200-meter race, Tim Al-Asar (Shahba) and Hala Ghazala (Al-Arabi). In the 400m race, Ayham Abu Hamra and Rachel Dannoun (Shahba) in the 1000m race, Ezz El-Din Al-Halabi (naked) and Balqis Qatrib (Al-Arabi) in the 2000m race.
He won the 2 km walking competition, Urwa Gharz al-Din and Saba al-Hajja (Salkhad), for the long jump competition, Aghid Ghanem and Salfana Muhanna (qanawat), and for the high jump, Ayham al-Jaramani (qanawat) and Eileen Diab (Salkhad), while he came first with the iron ball, Amir Abu Raslan (qanawat) and Taj al-Hajar (Salkhad), by throwing the javelin Karim Zarifa (channels), Shahd Radwan (nakedness), and by throwing the discus Karim Zarifa and Hamsa Zain al-Din (channels).
A member of the Athletics Federation supervising the tournament, Fida Al-Shawki, said in a statement to SANA that the tournament constituted an opportunity for players through which the Suwayda national team will be selected to participate in the Republic Championship, which will be an international tournament because it will have the participation of the teams of Lebanon, Iraq and Palestine.
The head of the Technical Committee for Athletics in Suwayda, Ibrahim Zain Al-Din, indicated that the tournament produced promising talents and witnessed the wide participation of the approved athletics clubs in the governorate.
