The activities of the International Day of Theater opened today at the House of Culture in Homs, with a new performance by the able artist Zenati Qudsia, titled “The Heart of the Lover”.
Prior to the presentation of the show, the head of the branch of the Artists Syndicate in Homs, Amin Roumieh, gave a speech in which he explained that the activities of the International Theater Day are held in cooperation between the Syndicate branch and the Directorate of Theaters to celebrate “Abu al-Funun” and out of respect for his audience, who was a true partner to everything that was presented on the city’s stages, which made the theater in Homs The strongest link in the series of artistic and cultural activities held, and theatrical movement became more frequent and bright.
The Secretary of the Homs branch of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party, Omar Houriya, spoke about the importance of the stage and its role in satisfying the audience, especially the youth, with the correct values through works that reflect the depth of belonging and lofty national meanings and confront cultural invasion.
And the play “The Heart of the Lover”, which was written and directed by the artist Qudsia and participated in the performance of its characters, in addition to the example of Jammoul, Afram El-Zakimi, Elias Farhoud and Fadi Ziada. of its kind.
The artist Zinati pointed out that the story of the show seems simple at first glance, but it contains many hidden matters that turn things upside down, pointing out that the most difficult point in the show is his combination of writing, directing and acting, but he trained himself a long time ago to control this relationship through live experiences. On stage, there are many artists in the world who have experienced this.
Qudsiyah, according to his expression, tries to present through his performances the greatest amount of excitement and pleasure on both the aesthetic and intellectual levels, and works hard to maintain receptivity and raise its pace as much as possible until the last moments of presentation.
The artist Mithal Jammoul expressed her happiness with this theatrical experience, which she considered one of her most important experiences on stage, being with a great artist who is considered the godfather of contemporary theater. Qudsiya sees it as an author and director through the character of the student who presented it.
The opening of the International Theater Day was attended by the head of the Artists Syndicate, Mohsen Ghazi, a number of official figures, clerics and a large audience.
Tomorrow evening, as part of the activities of the second day of the celebration of World Theater Day, the show “The Sheep” by Zine El Abidine Tayyar will be presented on the stage of the House of Culture.
