Ceiling in celebrity disco collapses - four injured: "I'm still in shock"

An accident happened in the Düsseldorf night residence on Sunday morning: around 30 square meters of a ceiling over the counter collapsed, four people were injured.
Düsseldorf – Dramatic scenes took place in a well-known celebrity disco on Sunday night.
According to the Düsseldorf fire brigade, a ceiling in the “night residence” collapsed around five in the morning.
Falling parts injured four people, two of them seriously.

Where German celebrities like Max Giesinger, who is more and more drawn to the country, usually gets the InTouch Award or the GZSZ stars celebrate, around 30 square meters of a suspended ceiling in the area of the counter collapsed on Sunday, according to emergency services.
The two seriously injured, an employee and a 20-year-old visitor, were immediately taken to the hospital.
The other two injured could have been treated on site.

information, the 20-year-old is currently still in the hospital, the employee who suffered a concussion has already been released.
The fire brigade also cleared the club immediately after arrival, and guests and employees were taken to safety.
The emergency services did not specify how many people were involved.

The emergency services could not find any further danger of collapse, which is why only the counter area was disconnected from the electricity and secured.
It is not yet clear why the accident could have happened at all.
According to the

, however, the police are now investigating negligent bodily harm, the building inspection office and the office for occupational safety have been informed.
However, the accident should be particularly bitter for the operators of the night residence.
After all, the doors of the Düsseldorf cult club had been closed for almost two years, partly because of the corona pandemic and partly because of renovation work.
The restaurant has only been open again since the beginning of March.

Night residence boss Marcel Oelbracht describes to the newspaper how worrying the situation might have been: "I'm still in shock, I had only left the club a few minutes before.
The safety of employees and guests is my top priority, which is why we will be working on the case in the next few days and analyzing the errors.
Until then, the club will remain closed for the time being.”
He couldn't say exactly how many guests were still in the Düsseldorf club at that time.
However, there shouldn't have been too many.
The authorities are now dealing with the incident.
