"CODA" wins the 2022 Oscar Award for Best Picture

Surprise at the Oscar Awards.

"CODA" has become the winner of the Oscar for Best Picture in 2022. The film directed by Siân Heder did not start out as one of the great favorites despite the fact that it had already won the Grand Jury Prize for best film at the Sundance Festival .

"CODA", distributed by Apple through its Apple TV streaming service, did not have it easy as it had only been nominated for three Oscars (best film, adapted screenplay and supporting actor) while works such as 'El Poder del Perro' or 'Dune' opted for 12 and 10 statuettes respectively at the 94th edition of the ceremony organized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

However, in the days prior to the awards ceremony, "CODA" had managed to position itself among the bookmakers as the second favorite to win the grand prize.

The film was nominated for three categories and has managed to win all three awards (best film, supporting actor and adapted screenplay).

The dramatic film is a

of the French film "La Famille Bélier", released in 2014, and tells the story of a family in which all the members are deaf except for Ruby (played by Emilia Jones), a 17-year-old girl who helps in the family fishing business.

In high school she decides to find new hobbies and join the choir.

She there she discovers her passion for singing and falls in love with a partner.

In turn, the director of the choir proposes that she continue studying music, something that leads her to have to choose between continuing to help her family member or dedicating herself to her studies.
