President of the state parliament Muhterem Aras has rejected the demand by the SPD and FDP for a special session of parliament on the initiative by Social Affairs Minister Manne Lucha (Greens) to end the pandemic corona situation.
The German press agency learned this on Monday from circles in the state parliamentary groups in Stuttgart.
The SPD and FDP opposition alone did not have enough votes to hold a special session.
Stuttgart - SPD faction leader Andreas Stoch and his FDP colleague Hans-Ulrich Rülke asked Aras on Friday to convene a special session for this week so that citizens can get clarity about the course of the green-black government.

Kretschmann whistles Minister back
Lucha had asked Federal Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (SPD) in a letter to herald the change from the pandemic to the endemic phase at the end of April.
That would have had far-reaching consequences.
The coronavirus would then be classified like the flu virus, with virtually no testing and no mandatory quarantine.
After Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann (Greens) distanced himself from Lucha, the minister rowed back.
