The celebration of the International Day of Theater in theaters and centers in various governorates allowed Syrian playwrights to present a new synthesis of performances away from the usual classic template.

In Lattakia, its National Theater troupe presented a theatrical performance whose paintings embodied emotional and suggestive situations that have implications for the current reality in the wars and conflicts we live in.

The author and director of the work, Kamal Qarhali, explained that this celebration was characterized by presenting scenes, not a theatrical text, within modest capabilities imposed by the conditions resulting from the war on Syria.

Among the heroes of the show, theatrical artist Majd Adnan Younes talked about the scenes presented in touch with the issues of all societies from the aesthetics of peace and the ugliness of war, while the artist Gharb Marisha explained that the paintings that were presented reflect emotional states in a dancing and expressive manner.

The artist Aws Ghadeer referred to the use of the art of kinetic performance and what it symbolizes of projections on the ground, so that the artist Suleiman Sheriba describes the theater as one of the most important solutions to create that space on the ground and in front of the audience.

For his part, Dr. Muhammad Ismail Basal, head of the branch of the Arab Writers Union in Lattakia, who attended the event, confirmed that the artists presented a capable professional presentation with simple financial capabilities.

In Aleppo, Muawiyah Hall hosted a festival organized by the Directorate of Education as part of the World Theater Day competition held by the Directorate of Artistic and Sports Activities in the Ministry of Education.

The festival included an exhibition in which 20 male and female students participated, in which they presented about 80 paintings, a choir, a folkloric and folk dance, and a theatrical performance.

The work, according to its director, Ahmed Al-Faris Al-Ali, merged the play Al-Maskina and Other Tales by Russian Anton Chekhov, which is a group of short stories that were selected and turned into a theatrical work, with the students involved in the selection and preparation of the story and the search for the character to develop their talents.

Ramia Atki, supervisor of the Fine Arts Department, spoke about the exhibition, which included decorative drawings, pulp, watercolor and shading from the students' work during the year.

In turn, the head of the cultural center in Qamishli, Faiza al-Qadri, indicated that monodrama is a unique theatrical art because it depends on the personality of the actor and his method of persuasion.

The show, whose characters were performed by eight actors, and its scenography, Nagham Arnouk, tells the story of an inspector who visits a remote village, and its people fall into the error of his knowledge, and its members hurry in their simplicity to offer him information and concessions, only to discover his falsity in the end.

Director Hassan explained to SANA reporter that the show comes within the framework of the work plan of a group of workshops, the first of which bears the title of Police Theater, or what is internationally known as biomechanics, which is one of the most important types of theater and is based on integrating the spectator audience to work in the theatrical game.
