Berlin – Minister of Health Karl Lauterbach* wants to propose four criteria for determining corona hotspots to the federal states.
The SPD* politician announced this on Sunday (March 27) on Bild-TV.
A video switch of the Conference of Health Ministers (GMK) is planned for this Monday afternoon.
Bavaria's Vice Prime Minister Hubert Aiwanger (Free Voters), for example, is against declaring the Free State a corona hotspot.
Meanwhile, the nationwide 7-day incidence* has fallen for the second day in a row;
the Robert Koch Institute (RKI)* gave the value on Monday morning as 1700.6.
A week ago it was 1714.2.
20 more deaths from or with Covid-19* were added.
Lauterbach* now said that the criteria included when planned interventions could no longer be carried out in hospitals due to Corona, emergency care was at risk, care fell below lower limits or patients had to be transferred to other hospitals.
With these criteria, the countries should be able to implement the hotspot regulations.
"And I appeal to the states to do it now," Lauterbach continued.
Corona hotspot regulations in Germany: Lauterbach contradicts Holetschek
Lauterbach rejected the demand by the Bavarian Health Minister Klaus Holetschek (CSU *) for a nationwide extension of the mask requirement.
“Whether he proposes it or not is completely irrelevant.
It's not legal," said the SPD politician, but emphasized that he himself would have liked to have kept the mask requirement if it had been legally possible.

Corona in Germany: Lauterbach makes a mask appeal to supermarkets
However, he appealed to the federal states to do this in the hotspots and again called on the large supermarket chains to enforce the mask requirement in their branches nationwide by domiciliary rights.
He expects companies to respond to his appeal on Monday.
There is disagreement in the state governments as to whether the legal requirements for identifying hotspots are currently met or not.
