Due to the recent outbreak of terrorist attacks, Defense Minister Bnei Gantz decided today (Monday) to postpone his trip to India scheduled for tomorrow.
Gantz's visit was initially scheduled for April 5, but the Indians sought to postpone it due to Prime Minister Bennett's visit. The Defense Minister later decided to advance the visit.
Due to the overlap in dates, a confrontation developed between the offices of the Minister of Defense and the Prime Minister.
Bennett's visit is currently scheduled for next week, but may be postponed after the prime minister is verified for Corona.
During Gantz's visit, discussions were scheduled with Indian Defense Minister Rajanat Singh on deepening and improving relations between the two countries.
The parties also planned to hold meetings with other senior members of the Indian defense establishment.
As you may recall, the relationship between Gantz and his coalition partners, including Bennett of course, has seen ups and downs during her nine-month term in office.
The last public confrontation between the two was Ganz's boycott of the coalition votes until the issue of the pension law for IDF officers was settled. Finally, a compromise was reached and the law was approved by the Knesset plenum.
