Two suspects, a resident of East Jerusalem and a resident of Lod, were arrested this evening (Monday) near the Anaba interchange on Road 1 (Jerusalem-Tel Aviv) with an explosive device in their possession.
Heavy traffic loads were recorded in both directions, which are expected to continue until the end of the police saboteur operations and to ensure that there is no danger to road users.
It is currently recommended to travel on Route 443.
The suspects were arrested as part of a covert police operation at the scene and the background to the incident is apparently criminal.
Tomorrow, the police will ask to extend the detention of the suspects in the Magistrate's Court in Rishon Lezion.
