From 2023, anyone traveling by motorhome can make a stopover at the Sportpark Markt Schwaben.

For a maximum of three days/nights.

In the meantime, the municipal administration in Markt Schwaben has, according to its own information, received several inquiries from outside whether there is a possibility of being allowed to stay legally in Markt Schwaben for a few days with the mobile home.

According to the market community administration, the sports park is seen as a place for such cases.

There are a total of seven parking bays, each with a different number of parking spaces.

The first parking bay (right after the skate park) could be used as a mobile home parking space, according to the environmental, transport, social and cultural committee of the market town council.

Depending on the size of the mobile home, there would then be space for eight to ten vehicles.

Sidecars (mobile home plus caravan) should not be allowed, the committee said.

Since this is only intended to be a parking space and not a campsite, the municipality is relatively flexible in the implementation.

The committee members learned that the regulations for a campsite (e.g. with toilets, water and electricity connections, etc.) do not have to be fulfilled for a pitch.

Nevertheless, a user regulation including rules of conduct could (and should) be drawn up.

The maximum parking time will also have to be regulated in it.

Markt Schwaben: Committee approves project

According to information from the municipal administration, research has shown that fees of between six and ten euros per day are charged in Germany for simple pitches without other services such as water, electricity or WLAN.

As the Markt Schwabener Sportpark is close to the A94 motorway and there are no parking spaces in the immediate vicinity, the committee proposed a daily price of ten euros and ultimately decided on it.

However, since the money for a parking ticket machine can only be made available in the 2023 budget year, implementation can only take place in the coming year, explained Clarissa Pohl, a member of the public order office.

If the site is very popular and there is a need for additional services such as water or water disposal, electricity or WiFi, the next step could be to think about setting up these services and adjusting the fees.

No hygienic connections for the time being

The committee decided to designate the first parking bay on the west side of the parking lot in the Sportpark Markt Schwaben as a mobile home parking space.

The maximum parking time is three nights, the fee is paid via a parking ticket machine (solar-powered).

In the turning area of ​​the sports park, it should be allowed to dispose of gray water.

The administration was also commissioned by the committee to draw up a "highlight" board and a usage regulation.

Furthermore, the future parking space is to be announced in various apps.
