Prime Minister Naftali Bennett today held a security assessment
The Prime Minister, Naftali Bennett, conducted a security assessment today (Monday), March 28, 2022, 25 Adar 2, 2002.
The discussion presented the operational and intelligence situation in light of the terrorist attacks of recent days.
The Prime Minister emphasized that this is a new situation that requires the defense system to prepare and adapt to the circumstances, in which extremist sections of Arab society, guided by an extremist Islamist ideology, take terrorist acts and harm human lives.
The following are the Prime Minister's instructions:
Continued extensive operational effort, through a variety of tools (including legal, economic, intelligence and digital) in all arenas, including overt and covert investigative actions, in order to prevent further incidents and prosecute those who assisted in carrying out the attacks.
- Reinforcement of forces of the security forces, with an emphasis on points of friction, immediately until Independence Day (at this stage).
Expansion of the policy of carrying weapons by IDF soldiers on a regular basis and in reserve.
Use of restraining orders and administrative detentions against terrorist operatives, in appropriate cases where it will be possible to present an appropriate legal infrastructure.
- Monitoring the discourse on social networks, identifying inciting factors and potential harms and taking appropriate measures against them.
Preserving and strengthening the dialogue with public leaders and opinion leaders in the Arab public in order to preserve stability.
Continuation and expansion of arms confiscation operations in relevant places by the Israel Police.
The discussion was attended by the Minister of Defense, the Minister of Internal Security, the Chief of Staff, the Chief of the GSS, the Commissioner of Police, the Deputy Attorney General and other parties.
