Following the spate of infections in Corona, China's largest city with 26 million inhabitants, it is under an exceptional restriction

Although China is accustomed to closures and "zero-contagion" policies after two years of waves of the corona plague, today (Monday) authorities showed that they are not afraid to close the largest bulk in the country, Shanghai, with 26 million inhabitants.

This is the largest closure in China since the epidemic began and it will last for nine days, with each time half of the city will be under closure half the time and then they will be replaced.

All businesses and services except exceptions will be shut down.

In the hours before the closure took effect on Monday at five in the morning, a huge shopping panic was observed in supermarkets in the city, which is the economic capital of the People's Republic.

Some of the shelves were emptied of products, and even brawls developed.

This is despite the fact that the authorities tried, in vain, to make it clear that there would be no shortage of food.

The closure is intended to allow an inspection of all residents of the city with a view to the local infection, which has skyrocketed in recent days and even broke a daily record of new cases in the city.
