The works of three different generations of Palestinian plastic artists varied in the embodiment of the right of return and resistance to the Zionist occupation and the Palestinian woman with her struggle, steadfastness and her traditional dress during the collective plastic exhibition hosted by the People’s Hall on the occasion of Land Day.

The exhibition, which was held by the Palestinian Plastic Artists Union, included about 40 artworks of different sizes and various art schools, in which 30 plastic artists gathered to commemorate a day when the Palestinian people rose to support their just cause.

Two large murals embodied the meanings of liberation from occupation for Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela with famous phrases written by these two fighters emphasizing the right of the Palestinians to resist the occupation.

The director of the two works, Yarub Maarouf, confirmed in a statement to SANA reporter that the goal of choosing the symbols of the struggle against colonialism and racism is to confirm that Palestine is on its way to liberation from the Zionist occupation, indicating that the techniques used in the two joint works of the two artists, Heba Ibrahim and Jahan Al-Qattan, depended on the art of “graffiti”, which is a mixture From the drawing, he scolded “Spray”, while the portraits were made of acrylic.

In turn, the plastic artist, Mahmoud Al-Khalili, participated in two paintings, in different styles and colors, embodied in one of them the Dome of the Rock guarded by the Peace Baths, using acrylic to embody the Palestinian plastic artist’s message related to the struggle in all its forms against the Zionist occupation.

The Palestinian woman attended the resistance in her dress and steadfastness in the works of the plastic artist Mahmoud Abdullah, through his participation in three paintings.

The artist Samer Al-Saidi participated for the first time in the exhibition of the land, with a work that embodies the sanctities represented in mosques and churches, using oil colors and the technique of the knife.

The calligrapher and plastic artist Salim Khattab, a participant in the exhibition for the first time, also presented two works using a mixture of watercolors and acrylics, in addition to oil paintings, to emphasize the Palestinian constants.

Artist Hanan Ibrahim participated in a painting inspired by the Palestinian dress, which is a heritage symbol for women in Palestine, using oil colors.

Secretary of the Syrian Plastic Artists Union Ghassan Ghanem saw that the Palestinian plastic artists expressed the suffering of the Palestinian people by presenting plastic works at distinct levels and their ability to express what is going on inside them through color.

Abdel Muti Abu Zaid, head of the Palestinian Plastic Artists Union, Syria branch, considered the exhibition a stimulus for artists to work on Palestinian occasions that express sacrifices, noting the efforts made by the participating artists, who are from different generations.
