It was a school building - and apparently also a target for the Russian invading army.
In Kharkiv, teachers, parents and former students tried to at least roughly repair the damage to the learning center.
During the night, a Russian missile hit the building, which had become a shelter for those seeking protection during the war.

The city in north-eastern Ukraine has been under fire from Russian forces for weeks.
According to their own statements, Ukrainian troops were able to launch successful counterattacks in several towns.
Around a quarter of Ukraine's 44 million inhabitants have been forced from their homes.
Next Tuesday there will be another attempt at peace talks in Istanbul.
