France: Google fined 2 million euros for its application store

After more than three years of proceedings, Google was sentenced Monday by the Paris Commercial Court to a "

civil fine

" of 2 million euros for abusive commercial practices towards mobile application developers, and must modify seven clauses of its distribution contract, according to the judgment consulted on Tuesday by AFP.

The company was sued in 2018 by the Directorate General for Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Prevention (DGCCRF), which accused it of "

imposing tariffs

”.
