Compared to previous years, the corona rules have been simplified in many European countries - in some they have even been completely abolished.
An overview.
Numerous European countries are relaxing their corona measures due to the omicron variant.
The number of infections has shot up massively as a result of the variant, but hospital utilization has stabilized in many places.
Some countries now see Covid-19 as a normal disease.
We have put together a selection of countries where you can now spend your vacation largely without travel restrictions.
Denmark: "Freedom Day" already in February
Denmark already ended the corona measures in the country on February 1st *.
Thus, all restrictions for hotels, gastronomy, theaters or museums have been lifted.
A 3G ID is only required for access to healthcare facilities.
A mask is also only recommended by the state in health facilities.
However, private companies and private cultural institutions may insist on a mask requirement.
The entry rules have been lifted since March 1st
.
Travelers from EU and Schengen countries are no longer obliged to present proof of vaccination, convalescence or a test.
Holiday in the Netherlands: Only a few corona measures to be observed
Since March 23, there have largely been no longer any corona restrictions in the Netherlands.
Masks are no longer compulsory on buses and trains, and there are no access restrictions for shops, restaurants or pubs.
However, it is possible that some shops will want to independently check whether guests are vaccinated, recovered or tested.
For the entry itself, the restrictions have also been largely lifted,
only air travelers still have to fill out a health form
.
In addition, masks are still compulsory at the airport and on airplanes.
Great Britain and Northern Ireland have said goodbye to most of the Corona rules
Great Britain was severely affected by the corona pandemic several times.
In the meantime, however, things have returned to normal – as of March 18, all entry restrictions for people entering the United Kingdom were lifted.
This means that test evidence is no longer required, not even for unvaccinated people.
The electronic registration is also omitted.
In the country itself,
most corona restrictions were lifted on February 24th,
wearing a mask is only recommended in busy places and in closed rooms.
In Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, only recommendations for wearing a mask still apply.
Travel to Ireland – Corona restrictions lifted
Most of the corona measures have also been dropped in Ireland: Since March 6, no entry form has been required for entry, and the obligation to present proof of vaccination, recovery or a test is also history.
Since February 28,
masks have only been compulsory on public transport and in health facilities
.
Switzerland no longer requires proof of corona
There are no restrictions for German nationals entering Switzerland.
So there is
no need to fill out an entry form and no 3G proof
has to be presented.
However, masks are generally compulsory on public transport and in health facilities.
It is also possible that the individual cantons will introduce stricter corona measures at short notice.
