Irschenberg survived Corona financially "well" - but new debts are incurred

The municipality of Irschenberg survived the year 2021, which was shaped by Corona, well.
Nevertheless, in view of the planned investments, more than two million euros in loans have to be taken out this year.
Irschenberg – Irschenberg's Mayor Klaus Meixner (CSU) is satisfied with the budget for the current year.
The community survived 2021 well.
"Corona didn't make that much difference," he stated in the municipal council.
"We didn't have any problems." In addition, the planned workload for the broadband expansion could not be implemented, which kept expenses lower than planned.
The municipality has made some investments for 2022.
As always, road construction is part of it, for which 814,000 euros are planned - this includes a new Multicar (115,000 euros) and a new washing area (40,000 euros) for the building yard.
A further 323,000 euros are earmarked for the new rescue vehicle for the Irschenberg fire brigade.
The slowdown in broadband expansion has been postponed to 2022/23 and will cost 1.3 million euros this year.
At the waterworks it is 190,000 euros.
In addition, the war memorial will be moved from its place at the Irschenberg parish church over to the gymnasium.
Cost: 25,000 euros.
The personnel costs for the 21 employees are 1.5 million euros.
High planning costs for the new sewage treatment plant
The construction of the new sewage treatment plant is also having an impact.
280,000 euros are incurred this year for the planning of the project, which costs seven million euros.
Mayor: "No Hartz IV from the state"
The trade tax is planned at 2.6 million euros in 2022, income and sales tax participation will remain constant.
The district allocation is 2.4 million euros, and there are no key allocations this time either, as Meixner explained: “We don’t get Hartz IV from the state.
We are very liquid.”
Nevertheless, two million euros are to be raised this year for the purchase of land.
In 2023, another two million will be added for water and sewerage.
In 2024, 2.2 million will be repaid and 1.85 million will be added for sewage treatment plants and schools.
This means that the debt level at the end of 2025, less repayments made, amounts to 3.45 million euros.
At the same time, the reserve should be 1.87 million euros by the end of 2025.
In 2022, most of the expenses will be covered from the reserves.
The withdrawal is expected to be 2.32 million euros, as coverage without a key assignment is difficult according to the preliminary report from the administration.

And how do the council members rate the submitted budget?
Not at all.
Rather, they approved the figures in the public session without any comment.
Apparently, the community has returned to the tried-and-tested practice of the so-called pre-advisory meeting in camera, in which topics are discussed in advance in a “protected atmosphere”.
