A young man attacked his ex-girlfriend in Würzburg with a knife.
The police were already there and could prevent worse.
Würzburg - In Würzburg yesterday, Monday evening (March 28), a young man attacked his ex-girlfriend with a knife.
The 20-year-old was overpowered by the police who were already there.
Now the officials and the public prosecutor's office are investigating the suspicion of attempted homicide, as they jointly announced on Tuesday (March 29).
The attacker is said to have previously hired several friends to intimidate the ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend in a downtown bar.
On Monday evening, the 17-year-old called the police and said that a man was waiting for him in front of the bar who wanted to "stab" him.
The suspect is said to have been part of a larger group.

The officers were able to locate an 18-year-old who fled and threw away a knife.
Another youth escaped.
While searching for the 20-year-old suspected client, the police learned that he wanted to meet his ex-girlfriend that same evening.
The police were present at the meeting and arrested the 20-year-old when he attacked the woman with a knife.
A 14-year-old friend of the 20-year-old wanted to come to his aid and attacked a police officer.
The 14-year-old was also arrested.
The two should be brought before an investigating judge on Tuesday.
