The branch of the Syrian Trading Corporation in Daraa launched 20 tons of imported potatoes in the airport halls, the suburbs and Al-Kashef within the city of Daraa, at a price of two thousand pounds per kilogram.
The director of the Foundation's branch, Engineer Omar Al-Saadi, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the branch is working on positive intervention in the markets by offering basic materials below market prices, indicating that the process of importing potatoes from the public administration in Damascus continues.
Al-Saadi explained that the branch started today, before the holy month of Ramadan, by offering basic materials within the Sundus lounge, including jams, bulgur, canned goods, beans, rice, pasta, tomato paste, and others, stressing that the prices are less than the market by 25%.
Al-Saadi indicated that the branch seeks to secure part of the citizens' needs and positive intervention in the markets to break prices.
