It took a while, but the moment the PlayStation players have been waiting for has arrived: rumors that have surfaced online in recent months have come true, and Sony today unveiled the changes it will make to the PS PLUS service and place it as a direct competitor against Microsoft's Game Pass service.
Sony explained that the PS PLUS service has merged with the PS NOW service and starting this June Sony will allow subscribers to choose from three different tracks with each having its own benefits.
So, how does it work?
Let's look at the different routes.

PlayStation Plus Essential
The first track will cost about $ 9.99 a month ($ 60 a year) and will provide the same options now available to PS PLUS subscribers: two free monthly games, exclusive discounts at Sony's store, cloud storage and access to online and multiplayer services - nothing has changed in this segment .
PlayStation Plus Extra
The second track will cost about $ 14 a month ($ 99.99 a year) and will provide the same benefits of the previous track in addition to access to a catalog of more than 400 PlayStation 4 and 5 games - including exclusive Sony games and third-party keys.
PlayStation Plus Premium
The price of the third track will increase to about $ 17 per month ($ 119.99 per year) and provides the same benefits of the previous two tracks: 340 more games including games from the PlayStation 1, 2 and PSP games for direct download or in-game via cloud service, and games From the PlayStation 3 era - they can be played using the cloud service only.
This is the only track that will also be available to PC gamers and allow them to play PlayStation games via streaming to the cloud.
So when will it be released and what games will come at launch?
Sony has not given a date, but it does expect to launch the service by the end of the first half of the end of 2022, ie this summer.
When the long-awaited day arrives when the service will be officially marketed, the current PS NOW service will no longer be available as a separate service, and subscribers will be transferred to the Premium subscription at no extra cost.
Sony has updated on its website that Death Stranding, God of War, Marvel's Spider-Man, Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Mortal Kombat 11, and Returnal are just some of the games it plans to get on the first day of launch, and it's planning more surprises.
