After another attack in Israel, the security situation in the country is extremely tense.

During the night, the Israeli army entered the perpetrator's place of residence in Jabed in the occupied West Bank near the city of Jenin.

Six young men were arrested there during the night, the Palestinian news agency Wafa reported.

No further details were initially given.

The Jerusalem Post also reported on arrests in the Palestinian territories.

According to the authorities, the man opened fire on passers-by in Bnei Brak near Tel Aviv on Tuesday evening, killing five people.

He was shot dead by police officers after the attack.

Among the dead were an Israeli policeman and two foreign workers.

Abbas condemns attack - Al-Aqsa brigades announce "war".

The act was the third attack in Israel within a week.

A total of eleven people have died in the country during the recent wave of terror.

Three of the perpetrators were Israeli Arabs.

Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett recently said the country was facing a "wave of murderous Arab terrorism."

Action will be taken decisively and "with an iron fist".

Members of the underground Al-Aqsa Brigades in Jenin raised fears of further attacks after Tuesday's attack.

One of three hooded men announced in Hebrew a "war throughout the State of Israel."

The Al-Aqsa Brigades are the military arm of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah movement.

However, it is a loose network without a clear hierarchy, local groups often act on their own.

Abbas himself condemned the attack in Bnei Brak, according to Wafa.

The killing of Palestinians and Israelis will "only contribute to a further deterioration of the situation", especially in view of the upcoming holidays of Muslims, Christians and Jews.

Violence could escalate further during the Muslim month of fasting, Ramadan, which begins in early April.

The Israeli police have been put on high alert in light of the series of attacks.

The presence in busy places should be significantly increased, it said in a statement.
