Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced that a new reality is currently being formed in which the unipolar world will be “bringing the past away” forever and a multipolar world will be established in its place, stressing that this is an objective process that cannot be stopped.
In statements to reporters in Tunis, China today, Lavrov said that this new reality will not be controlled by one country, but rather consensus must be reached between all the basic countries that have a decisive influence on the global economy and global politics, and these countries must observe the main principles of the United Nations, including the principle The main one is political equality between countries.
Lavrov added that Moscow considers the results of the negotiations between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations in Istanbul yesterday as a positive progress forward, although they are not final results yet.
Lavrov stressed that significant progress was represented by the Ukrainian negotiating side stressing the need to ensure Ukraine's status as a neutral country outside of alliances, whose security is guaranteed outside NATO.
Lavrov declined to comment on the statements of US officials who expressed doubts about Russian plans to reduce military effectiveness in Ukraine, noting that actions differ from the words of the United States itself.
