Mauritanian Prime Minister Mohamed Ould Bilal submitted his resignation to Head of State Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani.
Mauritanian TV stated that Ould Bilal, in his first comment after the resignation, "thanked the members of the resigned government for their efforts during the past period," while it was not known whether President Ould Cheikh El-Ghazwani would appoint a new head of government or would he ask Bilal to keep the resigned government in a "discharge" rule. Ould Bilal served as an advisor in the cabinet before being assigned by the Mauritanian president to form a government after his predecessor, Ismail Ould Cheikh Sidya, submitted the resignation of his government in August 2020.
