(CNN Spanish) --

In Haiti, a group of protesters took the Antoine-Simon airport, in the city of Los Cayos, and burned one of the planes of the Christian missionary company Agape Flights, which is headquartered in Florida.

In a video published by the Reuters news agency, several protesters are seen entering the airport runway and taking the aircraft.

In photographs published by Agape Flights, the burned plane is observed.

In a statement published on its website, the airline explained that the plane was destroyed but that its personnel are safe and that it is preparing to take them back to the United States.

Agape Flights also explained that due to insecurity and the events of this Tuesday, the flights scheduled for this week have been cancelled.

This company is dedicated to carrying essential parcels and supplies between the United States and Caribbean countries such as Haiti, Cuba and the Dominican Republic.

Haitian Prime Minister Ariel Henry condemned the acts through his Twitter account.

He said that he has given the order so that "the public authorities take the necessary actions against the authors of these subversive acts so that they are severely punished."

The Haitian National Police has not offered a balance of the marches so far.

CNN has tried to contact the Police Department for more details, but has so far received no response.
