Six weeks after a cancer aftercare operation, Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig (SPD) resumed government business on Wednesday.
“I am very happy to be back on board after my recovery period.
I'm fine," the 47-year-old wrote on Facebook in the morning.
“I needed this time to recover.
I am glad that I have the full strength again to work for our country and all citizens.”
Schwerin - On your first day at work, a closed conference of the state government on current topics is planned.
Afterwards she wants to give a press conference that will be broadcast live on social media.
Schwesig had an operation on February 15.
The head of government tweeted at the time that this was intended to remedy the consequences of the intensive cancer therapy.
The surgery had therefore been postponed several times because of Corona.
Now it is urgent, Schwesig said six weeks ago.

After being diagnosed with breast cancer in September 2019, Manuela Schwesig was open about the disease and had received a lot of encouragement.
Even after her recovery, she kept speaking out on the subject.
