If you sign up for “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire”, you should ideally have already seen one or two episodes.

But on March 28, a candidate surprised Günther Jauch with a big confession.

He hasn't seen an episode of the RTL quiz show for a long time.

Cologne – On March 28, candidate Winfried Strehle will put his knowledge to the test in “Who wants to be a millionaire” (here all the news on the topic page) and would like to earn as much money as possible with Günther Jauch (65).

When he then falters with the 16,000 euro question, he surprises the quiz master with a big confession.

Winfried hasn't seen an episode of the quiz show for a long time and only applied because his mother-in-law urged him to do so.

"Who wants to be a millionaire" candidate starts sweating right from the start

Many contestants prepare for their participation in Who Wants To Be A Millionaire by watching replays of past episodes or by testing their general knowledge daily.

Regular viewers of the RTL quiz show therefore have a great advantage over others, as they have acquired a great deal of general knowledge through the show.

But on March 28, one candidate is having a particularly difficult time.

Customer service employee Winfried Strehle takes a seat on the hot seat on Monday evening and would like to knock Günther Jauch off his stool with his knowledge.

He does that too, but not with his outstanding intelligence, but with a thick confession.

"Who wants to be a millionaire" candidate has used up all the jokers when asked 8,000 euros

Things aren't looking too good for the customer service representative at first.

Even with the 500 euro question, Winfried starts to sweat.

He doesn't particularly like the subject of "football", which is why he has to pull out the telephone joker there.

At 8,000 euros, the candidate has already gambled away all his jokers.

Still, luck seems to be on his side.

When asked the 16,000 euro question, Günther Jauch wanted to know: "In what context did the name Paul Löbe often come up on February 13 for current events?".

But when he answers, Winfried makes a big confession, which visibly upsets the quiz master.

One possible answer to the question asked is “Millions won at WWM”.

Although you could rule this out relatively quickly as a regular viewer, Winfried doesn't seem to be sure:

"I have to admit, I haven't seen an episode of 'Who wants to be a millionaire' for a very long time," he confesses to the moderator.

Loud laughter resounds in the audience, but Günther Jauch is anything but amused.

But why is Winfried applying to the RTL quiz show?

His mother-in-law urged him to take part in the show: "I'll sign you up for 'Who wants to be a millionaire', you're such a smartass," she is said to have said to Winfried.

In order not to disappoint his mother-in-law, Winfried decides to continue gambling without a joker and, despite initial difficulties, goes home with a total of 16,000 euros.

Another candidate also had major problems with a football question on March 28 on “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire”.

She works for FC Bayern, alongside football stars like Oliver Kahn.
