The soccer women of VfL Wolfsburg are in the semi-finals of the Champions League.
The team from Lower Saxony won the second leg of the quarter-finals on Thursday evening 2-0 (1-0) against Arsenal WFC.
The first leg in London ended 1-1.
In front of 11,293 spectators in the Volkswagen Arena, Jill Roord (9th minute) and an own goal by Leah Williamson (73rd) ensured the deserved victory.

After the first leg, VfL coach Tommy Stroot had opted for a more offensive tactic with a few weaker phases.
The green-whites looked more aggressive and dangerous in the first half compared to the first meeting.
Roord rewarded the players from Lower Saxony early on: After a tumult in the penalty area as a result of a corner kick, she artistically pushed the ball in with her back to the goal.
