The planning for the indoor pool at Amperoase continues.

An air dome over the outdoor pool could prevent an impending closure and still allow the ice rink to be built earlier.

Therefore, the development plan for the ice rink is being prepared.

Fürstenfeldbruck – The city council spent more than three hours dealing with the Amperoase and ice rink complex.

The planning stop requested by the Free Voters is off the table.

Instead, you drive on multiple tracks.

The planning for the new building of the indoor pool is in progress.

As Stadtwerke Managing Director Jan Hoppenstedt reported, a jury is currently examining the designs.

The project cannot be put off for too long, as new technical defects keep appearing.

"They could lead to a timely closure of the bath."

Hoppenstedt and city councilors made it clear that they want to stick to the sports and family pool.

The president of the water rats, Stefan Sponer, promoted a pure sports pool.

A 50-meter pool can be used for a variety of purposes - it can be converted in 15 to 20 minutes with a movable floor and flexible walls.

According to Sponer, eight 25-meter lanes plus a diving board and a teaching pool are needed to guarantee swimming lessons.

According to Mayor Erich Raff's calculation, six lanes would be enough.

Hoppenstedt referred to the available free times for schools in the swimming pool.

outdoor pool

One solution would be an air dome over the outdoor pool.

So it could be used all year round.

"The water rats will take part in setting up and dismantling in spring and autumn," promised Sponer.

"Then the discussion about a larger indoor pool would be obsolete." Christian Götz (BBV) said: "Then we could bridge the construction phase and enlarge the swimming area." An air dome was tested many years ago and due to the higher costs due to the shape of the pool been discarded.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular FFB newsletter.)

Hoppenstedt has already received an offer.

Accordingly, the hall would cost two million euros.

In addition, there are energy costs and construction work to secure the hall to the ground.

The charm: With a covered outdoor pool, the pressure is off from an imminent pool closure and a quickly necessary demolition.

ice rink

Because Amperoase and Eisstadion are technically connected.

With the demolition of the pool, the changing rooms for the ice rink were lost, as was the ammonia system for cooling the area.

That would pose problems for the skating clubs, explained Klaus Limmer, chairman of the EVF.

"We fear the loss of two winter periods."

A provisional would cost a seven-figure sum.

Instead, a technology bar could be built at the location of the future ice rink - with changing rooms, showers and cooling systems.

This could later be integrated into an ice rink - similar to that in Burgau - the model for the Brucker ice rink.

"A blueprint is definitely conceivable at the soccer field," said Dorothea Heid, chairwoman of the ERCF.

"The technology bar could be the first phase of construction for the ice rink," said Hoppenstedt.

Then you could also discuss whether to build the ice rink in front of the pool, added Limmer.

That went too fast for some councils.

"Why do we want to break a land use plan without a second meeting of the ice rink working group?" asked Andreas Lohde (CSU).

It's just a fundamental decision, said Mirko Pötzsch (SPD).

Mayor Raff and Jan Halbauer (Greens) warned against driving two projects to the wall.

According to Raff, there is only money in the budget for the ice rink in 2024 and 2025. And the budget has not yet been approved.

This is how it goes

After a 15-minute deliberation break, all factions agreed on a compromise: with one dissenting vote, a feasibility study for an air dome over the outdoor pool was commissioned.

The result should be presented before the summer break.

He agrees with the planning, but perhaps not with the construction, announced Halbauer.

"Inflatable halls are always an ecological disaster." In addition, the city council decided against four votes to initiate the land use plan for the ice rink on the soccer field - without a client.

Here, too, the first results should be available before the summer break.
