An opinion poll: More than 80 percent of Russians support President Putin's decisions

An opinion poll conducted by the independent Levada Center showed that more than 80 percent of the Russian people support the decisions of Russian President Vladimir Putin, while his popularity has risen remarkably since the start of the special military operation to protect Donbass.

AFP quoted the poll as saying, "83 percent of Russians confirmed their approval of Putin's decisions during the month of March, compared to 71 percent in early February."

The poll showed an improvement in the popularity of the Russian government and Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

And opinion polls conducted by other parties recently showed a similar percentage, indicating that the support rate of President Putin among Russian citizens exceeded 80 percent.
