The municipality of Lenggries has a lot planned for the current year.

The most recent council meeting was about planned investments.

The largest project this year is the Schlegldorf fire station.

Lenggries –

The focus of the recent Lenggries municipal council meeting was the budget resolution (we reported).

Traditionally, the committee initiates some of the planned investments immediately afterwards.

Schlegldorf fire station

The largest construction project in the municipality of Lenggries this year will be the new construction of the fire station in Schlegldorf, for which the building permit has been available since December 2021.

Around 1.8 million euros have been earmarked for the measure.

However, this does not include personal contributions, which are likely to be extensive.

This was also confirmed by Martin Sappl from the technical building authority when it came to tendering the work.

"Sometimes only the materials are tendered, since a large part of the work is carried out by the members of the fire brigade themselves."

The new building will be built directly on the state road 2072 - where the old fire station is now much too small.

However, the latter remains in operation until the new one can guarantee operational safety.

Three structures are planned, explained Sappl.

The vehicle hall with three parking spaces, for which there is a subsidy, an intermediate and connecting building that houses a workshop, among other things, and the social wing with changing rooms, toilets, office, large training room and kitchenette.

The ground floor is brick, the upper floor is made of wood.

There is space for a photovoltaic system on the roof.

"Heated with an air heat pump," said Sappl.

The wood needed for construction comes from the community forest.

Mayor Stefan Klaffenbacher (FWG) thanked the fire brigade in advance for their great support.

"She was very involved.

We are well on the way to a beautiful house, which is well within budget in terms of costs.” The municipal council unanimously decided to commission the administration to launch the tenders.

Extension of lunchtime care

School lunchtime care is bursting at the seams.

"We have already outsourced a group," said Mayor Stefan Klaffenbacher at the municipal council meeting.

In addition, the municipality is looking for a place for another kindergarten group and expects an increased need for care places by the war refugees.

Therefore, the container facility next to the school, which houses the lunchtime care, is to be expanded.

The two-storey extension with a toilet facility is to be designed as a timber frame construction.

"The purchase of finished steel construction containers is considerably more expensive due to the current economic situation," said Karl Ertl, head of the Technical Construction Office.

In addition, it is not possible to say when delivery will be possible.

"In addition, a timber-frame construction is regional and more sustainable," said Klaffenbacher.

For Roman Haehl (Greens) this is definitely the right decision.

He wanted to know whether there were plans to sell the existing containers at some point and replace them with a decent construction.

"With other construction projects, we are always quite restrictive in terms of design," he said, looking at the system.

The containers were always just a temporary solution.

Klaffenbacher replied that the approval was also limited in time.

It was always intended to replace the whole thing with a solid building.

However, he asked for a little patience.

It is still difficult to estimate what space will be required from 2026, when the legal entitlement to all-day care is also introduced for primary school children.

“We don't yet know which requirements we will then have to meet.

"Until then, we'll stick with the transitional solution.

The extension should be available by the new school year.

The total cost is estimated at 240,000 euros.

The council agreed.

toilet facility

The municipality on Kalkofenweg has been planning the construction of a public toilet since 2019.

The project is to be implemented this year.

"The space is good and it is really necessary to create another public toilet," said Mayor Stefan Klaffenbacher.

The total cost is around 120,000 euros.

There is no funding for the measure.

Here, too, the municipal council voted in favor of the

school/kindergarten

In the St. Josef kindergarten, the renovation of the floors is completed.

Last year it was the turn of the lower and upper floors, this year the ground floor will follow.

Painting work is also pending.

45,000 euros are set for this.

"That would bring the whole building into shape," says Klaffenbacher.

The school sports facilities also need to be renovated.

Among other things, work on the all-weather pitch, the renewal of the fence and the purchase of a sprinkler system for the lawn are planned.

All in all, it should cost 109,000 euros.

It has not yet been finally clarified whether there will be a grant.

The municipal council approved the tender for both projects.

road repairs

The ongoing road repairs are also continuing this year.

Among other things, the second construction phase on Scharfreiterstraße and Schönbergstraße is to be tackled.

A total of 360,000 euros is planned.

There was no resistance from the board.

Hirschbach Bridge

The Hirschbach Bridge needs to be renewed.

This has been discussed since 2019.

At that time, the draft plan was also presented to the municipal council.

The municipality is now also launching this measure, but this is one of the projects "that we may have to postpone this year," said Klaffenbacher, referring to the municipality's financial situation.

The bridge renewal should cost 600,000 euros.

Funding is available here.

Facility for hose maintenance

The municipality of Lenggries is planning a central hose maintenance facility for the seven fire brigades.

It is to be built in the former Freibank building on Münchner Strasse, next to the Lenggrieser Wehr equipment shed.

The conversion of the building costs around 20,000 euros, and the hose care facility costs 80,000 euros.

With almost 22,000 euros in grants can be expected, said Treasurer Michael Little.

"That's a good thing," said Klaffenbacher.

The council agreed.
