Bundeswehr aid mission in the Tegel arrival center extended

The Bundeswehr is helping longer in the Ukraine arrival center in Berlin than previously planned.
After a request from Berlin for administrative assistance, the Federal Ministry of Defense extended the deployment of the soldiers until April 30, Governing Mayor Franziska Giffey (SPD) told the German Press Agency on Thursday.
So far, the relief effort was until Thursday (April 31).

Since the opening of the arrival center on the former airport site in Tegel on March 20, 80 soldiers have been helping there with the registration of the refugees.
"I would like to thank Secretary of Defense Christine Lambrecht for agreeing to extend Bundeswehr support until the end of April," Giffey said.
"The servicewomen and men are an important help for the establishment and smooth running of the Ukraine arrival center TXL."
