The initiative was led by Hanan Rubin and Ariel El-Harrar, public figures in the ultra-Orthodox sector. • After posting on social media, hundreds of ultra-Orthodox applied to attend the funeral. "People asked rabbis, who said that attending the funeral was a mitzvah - he was a hero of Israel."

Many from the ultra-Orthodox sector intend to attend the funeral of policeman Amir Khoury, who was killed while assaulting the terrorist in the deadly attack in Bnei Brak.

This is not a common case, given the fact that this is a Christian policeman and a Christian funeral ceremony, but many ultra-Orthodox feel the need to pay their last respects and thank him for his protection and courage.

Khoury's funeral will be held at 5:00 PM in the Galilee Landscape Cemetery.

The exciting initiative was led by Hanan Rubin, a well-known public figure in Jerusalem.

"Along with the painful deaths of Avishai Yehezkel, Yaakov Shalom and two citizens of Ukraine, stands the name of Maj. Gen. Amir Khoury, who was killed while attacking the terrorist," Robin wrote on Facebook yesterday. Civilians, certainly cops, but it's not obvious that a person attacks a killer to protect others.

That an Arab-Christian is willing to pay with his life for Jews.

It is not obvious to attach the 14th words (the name will be his blood, HG) to Amir's name on the ultra-Orthodox sites. "

This is how he initiated the arrival of ultra-Orthodox Jews from various cities in the cemetery.

In addition, he turned to Ariel Al-Harrar, a spokesman for MK Putin Mula (Likud), who is considered a strong network anchor in the ultra-Orthodox sector, who shared the initiative and the results were not long in coming, with hundreds of ultra-Orthodox asking to attend the funeral.

But at the Khoury family home after the death of Maj. Gen. Amir in a terrorist attack in Bnei Brak

"At first I was skeptical, but a minute after I published the call, Hanan received an anonymous donation of 1,400 shekels from an Arab person. A very exciting thing was created here. I said there was no way I was not going to the funeral, the connection touched me," says Elharar

After receiving a donation from another anonymous source, two buses from Bnei Brak, Jerusalem, Beit Shemesh and Beitar Illit left for the funeral.

In addition, the company "Electra-Afikim" donated a bus free of charge from Bnei Brak to enable arrival at the funeral.

Among other things, the ultra-Orthodox received permission from rabbis to attend the funeral, despite the fact that it was a Christian ceremony.

"I received full responses that moved me, people asked rabbis and they said it was a mitzvah because he is a hero of Israel," Elharar said.
